Metropolis
Was not just a building, but a community. Over 7 years, from 2015-2022, tens of thousands had been served and lifelong friendships had been created. More than cups of coffee or a meal, but conversations and caring relationships. A culture where everyone belonged.
A cause that was bigger than us, embodying love for our neighbors as ourselves.
We sadly closed our doors at 603 Arizona at the end of January 2023. A hotel was intended to be on this corner shortly thereafter, but what had happened here will never be forgotten. We appreciate every single volunteer, customer, and friend. We love all of you and know it’s not the end. So let this be a celebratory look back at just a few of the amazing memories made on this corner of Santa Monica…

Some of the Many Events at Metropolis…
METROPOLIS Weekly Food Outreach
Our weekly food outreach programs had their final events on December 18th and 21st, 2022. For 3 years, even through a global pandemic, we faithfully served our Santa Monica neighbors with great food, genuine love, strong community, and a bit of hope for those who needed it.
Thanksgiving Celebration
In 2020 and 2021 Metropolis stepped up and helped cover some of what the huge Westside Thanksgiving Celebration typically put together for Thanksgiving Day. We served hundreds of delicious hot Thanksgiving meals to our local neighbors and those in surrounding communities.
Unsheltered Art
Unsheltered Art was an art therapy group for Artists of all backgrounds who represented all aspects of the community of Santa Monica.
